Discovering your roots is entertaining and educational, and can provide enjoyment on a vacation. The Family History Center, located in the historic LDS Chapel in Kanab, is open to the public free of charge by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The convenient location, on the northwest corner of Center and Main Streets, has plenty of parking available. Children are welcome. While researching family history might be daunting to some, there are always at least two staff members on hand to assist your search on the center’s 17 computers. This service is also available to foreign visitors with easy instruction booklets printed in different languages. “We encourage you to come in and check out our facility,” said Director Peter King, with pride. “We hope everyone will get excited about family history.”
